The European closed qualifier for ESL One: New York 2019 has completed with G2 Esports defeating CR4ZY in the grand finals of the event. The French roster will travel this September to New York City, where they will compete for a $200,000 prize pool.
The qualifier was held on July 9th, during which eight teams competed for one ticket to the event in a single-elimination playoffs bracket with best-of-three series. G2 Esports made it to the finals by defeating BLUEJAYS Int. (2-0) in the quarterfinals and Tricked Esports (2-1) in the semifinals. The final series versus CR4ZY concluded with the 2-1 score in favor of G2 Esports (8:16 at Vertigo; 16:11 at Dust II; 16:13 at Train).
ESL One: New York 2019 will take place on September 26-29th at Barclays Center. The tournament’s line-up will consist of eight teams. Earlier the organizers issued direct invites to Astralis, ENCE and Team Liquid, while eUnited qualified to the event from North America. The final three invited teams remain unannounced.
