This weekend the Chinese capital will host a premier CS:GO event Intel Extreme Masters Season XIV – Beijing, which will feature eight teams from all over the world competing for a $250,000 prize pool and an invitation to IEM Katowice 2020.
Despite the tournament’s location, its line-up includes only two Chinese teams – ViCi Gaming and TyLoo, who are the winners of the regional qualifiers. The other six participants received direct invites from the organizers, among them are European teams Astralis, ENCE, FaZe Clan, and Team Vitality, as well as Evil Geniuses from North America and 100 Thieves from Australia.
The event will begin on November 7th with a group stage, where eight teams will compete in two groups with all matches being best-of-three. Top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs stage. The groups will look as follows:
|Group A||Group B|
|100 Thieves||Evil Geniuses|
In Group A opening matches Astralis will face Vici Gaming, while 100 Thieves will play with ENCE. In the first series of Group B Team Vitality will compete with TYLOO, while FaZe Clan will face Evil Geniuses.
The playoffs stage is scheduled for November 9-10th and will feature a single-elimination for four teams, where the semifinals will be best-of-three and the grand finals will be best-of-five.
As the tournament is a Masters event of the earlier announced ESL Pro Tour, the winner will get an invitation to Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship, scheduled for February 25th – March 1st, 2020. The event is also part of Intel Grand Slam, the winner of which will get $1,000,000 of prize money.
