OpTic Gaming have become the champions of GG.Bet New York Invitational. In the grand finals of the event they defeated forZe, securing the last spot at the upcoming LAN-tournament ESL One: New York 2019. The runner-up received $5,000 in prize money.
GG.Bet New York Invitational was held on August 3rd–8th. First, eight teams competed in two GSL groups, and then top four teams advanced to the single-elimination playoffs bracket with best-of-three series. Both OpTic and forZe placed first in their groups. Later in the semifinals forZe outplayed Winstrike Team, while OpTic Gaming defeated BIG. In the grand finals forZe managed to win the first map (Nuke, 19-16), while OpTic emerged victorious on the second (Mirage, 16-13) and third (Overpass, 16-3) maps.

ESL One: New York 2019 is scheduled for September 26-29th. The organizers invited Astralis, ENCE, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, NRG Esports, while G2 Esports and eUnited qualified through European and North American qualifiers respectively. The tournament’s prize pool is set at $200,000, the event is also part of the third season of Intel Grand Slam.
