RFRSH Entertainment, an esports media production company based in Copenhagen, Denmark, has announced four Counter-Strike: Global Offensive events of the BLAST Pro Series, that will take place in four different cities in the 2018-2019 season.
The first event BLAST Pro Series: Lisbon 2018 will be held on December 14-15 in the capital of Portugal. The organizers have already revelled five out of six participants of the event, among them are Astralis, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, MIBR and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Next year RFRSH Entertainment will host three events: the first one will be held in March in São Paulo, Brazil; the second one will take place in April in Miami, United States; the third one will be held in May in Madrid, Spain.
All BLAST Pro Series events feature a similar and unique format – the list of participants includes six teams that compete for their share of a $250,000 prize pool. First, they compete in a single round-robin format group with best-of-one matches, and then top two teams advance to the grand finals, which is best-of-three. Each tournament will also feature a special prize bonus showmatch with five 1v1 aim duels called BLAST Pro Standoff – a team finishing third in the group will chose their opponent from the teams placed below them, the winner of the showmatch will get $20,000 in prize money.
The previous BLAST Pro Series event was held in Istanbul, Turkey on September 28-29. In the grand finals Astralis defeated MIBR with the score of 2-1.
