Vici Gaming and Winstrike Team have secured the last two spots at the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive major event IEM Katowice 2019 by showing the best results in Minors’ 3rd Place Play-In.
The competition for the last two tickets to the major took place on January 27th and featured four teams that placed third in their regional minor events. They competed in a double-elimination bracket, where the upper bracket series were best-of-one and the lower bracket series were best-of-three.
Winstrike Team managed to place first by defeating Team Envy (16:4) in the semifinals and Vici Gaming (16:14) in the winners’ finals. As for Vici, they defeated North (16:8) in the opening match and after dropping to the lower bracket managed to outplay them once again with the 2-0 score.
These two teams will participate in the New Challenger stage of IEM Major: Katowice 2019, which will take place from February 13th – March 3rd.
