The German esports organization BIG has announced changes in its Counter Strike: Global Offensive roster: the ex-Space Soldiers player İsmailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş has joined the team, while Johannes "nex" Maget went inactive due to health problems.
İsmailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş is a 23-years-old professional player from Turkey, who for the last three years has been playing for Space Soldiers. With the Turkish team he placed first at multiple LAN-events, including ASUS ROG Assembly Summer, GeForce Cup 2017, ESEA Season 25: Global Challenge, Europe Minor Championship – Boston 2019 and DreamHack Open Austin 2018. The player has been inactive since October.
Nex, who has been playing for BIG since early 2017, will be temporarily inactive due to wrist pains which have been impacting his performance for the past few months. The other BIG player Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz made an assumption on his Twitter account that once nex will be able to return to the competitive scene the team may consist of six players and “swap [players] for tournaments to be more creative and not readable”. It’s a common practice to have substitutions in other esports titles, such as Overwatch and League of Lengeds, but it is not typical for the CS:GO scene.
