ESL has revealed that the organization will held another Dota 2 event in the English city of Birmingham. ESL One Birmingham 2019 will take place on May 31 – June 2 at Arena Birmingham and feature a $300,000 prize pool.
Contrary to this year’s tournament, ESL One Birmingham 2019 will not be part of Dota Pro Circuit. Overall the tournament’s line-up will consist of 12 teams. The regional qualifiers will be played in March and April across four regions, including Europe, North America, China and South-East Asia.
The tournament will adopt the format of ESL One Hamburg 2018, which finished this October with a Team Secret’s victory. In short, the teams will compete in two round-robin groups with best-of-two series to determine eight participants of the double-elimination playoffs bracket, where all regular matches will be best-of-three and the grand finals will be best-of-five.
