David Dashtoyan, CEO and co-founder of Forward Gaming, has announced that the company has ceased to exist due to financial issues. At the moment of the organization’s termination it was represented only in Dota 2 – earlier last week their team had qualified to The International 2019.
Forward Gaming was a North American organization based in New York City. According to the official statement, the players were warned about the company’s state and its possible termination in June, before EPICENTER Major. Due to financial difficulties the company closed with debt to players who did not receive salaries for July as well as $36,000 of their share of prize money.
Dota 2 roster of Forward Gaming has had mixed results this season: while the team attended multiple LAN-events, they failed to place high at any of them. However, last week the team placed first in the North American qualifier for The International 2019.
