MDL Chengdu Major CIS Qualifier: Virtus.pro and Na`Vi Fail to Advance to Playoffs

The group stage of the closed CIS qualifier for MDL Chengdu Major has concluded with two favourites – Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere – failing to advance to the playoffs stage. While Virtus.pro still have a chance to qualify to the minor event DOTA Summit 11, Na`Vi have been completely eliminated from the qualifier.

The group stage featured 10 teams competing in two round-robin groups with best-of-two series. Top two teams from each group will play in the playoffs, the teams placed 3rd will participate in the Dota Summit 11 qualifier, while the other teams were eliminated and received 10 Dota Pro Circuit Points.

The playoffs will feature four teams playing in a double-elimination bracket with best-of-three series. The best two teams will qualify for the major, while the other two teams will participate in the minor qualifier.

MDL Chengdu Major is the first major event of the season, which is scheduled for November 16-24th. The tournament has $1,000,000 and 15,000 DPC points on the line.
