Mars Media has announced that they will host their second Dota 2 tournament in the Chinese city of Macau in 2019. Virtus.pro and PSG.LGD are the first teams to receive direct invites to the tournament.
MDL Macau 2019 will be held on February 20-24. As opposed to the previous event, this time MDL Macau will not be a part of the Dota Pro Circuit. The tournament will feature eight teams competing for a $300,000 prize pool. The organizers will reveal the rest of invited teams as well as information on the qualifiers later.
The previous MDL Macau event was held on December 8-10, 2017 as a minor tournament. In the grand finals OG defeated TNC Pro Team with the score of 2-0, claiming $130,000 in prize money and 150 DPC points. This year MDL organized MDL Changsha Major, a major tournament which took place on May 14-20. PSG.LGD placed first at the event after defeating VGJ.Storm in the finals, securing $400,000 in prize money and 750 DPC points.
