To fill the void of the indefinitely postponed The International 10, some of the leading Dota 2 teams in cooperation with tournament operators WePlay! Esports and Epic Esports Events have organized an online league OMEGA League, which will be held between August 10th – September 5th and feature a total prize pool of $600,000. The event will be consist of two regional divisions – Europe and Americas.
The European league will split into two divisions. The Immortal Division will feature twelve teams competing for a $500,000 prize pool. Among confirmed participants are Team Secret, Natus Vincere, Team Liquid, Virtus.pro, FlyToMoon, OG, Alliance, Team Nigma and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The final two teams will be determined based on the results of the closed qualifiers. Currently their participation in the qualifiers is confirmed by HellRaisers, Vikin.gg, Team Unique, Team Empire, B8 and Cyber Legacy. The Divine Division will see twelve teams fighting for their share of the $50,000 prize pool.
The event will also be played in the Americas, however the organizers have revealed much less information on the region. We know that there will also be two divisions – the Divine Division with ten participants and a $31,500 prize pool, while the Ancient Division will see eight teams competing for $8,500.
