Valve Remove Battle Pass’s Sideshop to Reintroduce Old Recycling System

Valve have released yet another Dota 2 update to address the community feedback about this year’s Battle Pass feeling less rewarding compared to previous years. The newest changes affect three aspects of the Pass:

  • Sideshop removed and replaced with the old Recycling system, which allows to recycle four immortals for one new immortal.
  • The amount of weekly battle points available from wagering is now the same as last year.
  • Ticketing requirements for Gauntlet removed.

Players that have recycled immortal before these changes will be automatically compensated. The rewards earned through the Sideshop will remain in player inventories, and those still having Sideshop gold can activate the feature with the dota_show_sideshop command. The achievements and challenges that used to grant sideshop gold will now instead provide additional spins in Rylai’s Battle Blessing.

Earlier this week Valve increased rewards for different Battle Pass activities, including for wagering, guild contracts, and recycling.

This year’s Battle Pass was released last week, introducing in-game guilds. Since then the prize pool of The International 10, which was indefinitely postponed, has been increased from $1,600,000 to almost $13,000,000.
