Valve is going to release their own standalone version of Dota Auto Chess, an incredibly popular custom map from Dota 2 workshop created by a Chinese company Drodo Studio.
In their blog, Valve explained that initially the company wanted to work on the game directly with Drodo Studio, however the negotiations between the two companies showed that this was not possible due to various reasons. Instead Drodo Studio will continue to work on their own non-Dota mobile version, while Valve is going to create a standalone version of the game. The companies will continue to cooperate and help each other.
Dota Auto Chess was released this January in Steam’s Workshop, currently the game has over 8,500,000 subscribers.
