The regional qualifiers for DOTA Summit 11 are underway, and some intermediate results are already known. Ninjas in Pyjamas, Virtus.pro, Invictus Gaming and Geek Fam are among the teams that already secured their spots at the first minor event of the current Dota 2 season.
The regional qualifiers have already completed in two regions – China and Southeast Asia. Invictus Gaming secured the first place in the Chinese qualifier – they made it all the way through the upper bracket where they defeated Newbee (2-0) in the first round and outplayed CDEC Gaming twice, first in the upper bracket finals (2-1) and then in the grand finals (3-2). In the Southeast Asia qualifiers Geek Fam showed the best result, managing to beat Team Jinesbrus (2-0), BOOM Esports (2-0) and Cignal Ultra (3-1).
The other two teams who secured their tickets to the event are Ninjas in Pyjamas and Virtus.pro, who compete in Europe and CIS respectively, the only two regions that will send two teams to the minor. NiP managed to finish both series with the clean 2-0 score – they outplayed Ascomanni and Team Singularity. In the losers' finals Singularity will face Ad Finem. In the CIS qualifier Virtus.pro placed first after defeating Old but Gold (2-0) and jfshfh178 (2-0). In the lower bracket finals HellRaisers will play with jfshfh178.
The qualifiers in North America and South America are also nearing their end. In the grand finals of NA qualifier Quincy Crew will face either Demon Slayers or Team Xolotl, while in the deciding series of SA qualifier NoPing e-sports will play with either FURIA Esports or paiN Gaming.
DOTA Summit 11 will take place on November 7-10th in Los Angeles. The winner of the event will qualify for MDL Chengdu Major. The teams will also compete for $300,000 of prize money and 660 Pro Circuit points.
