2018 World Championship: Results of Play-In Round 1

The first round of the Play-In stage of 2018 League of Legends World Championship has concluded, determining eight teams that made it to the second round. The competition will continue on October 6th.

The first round of the Play-In stage was held on October 1st – 4th. It featured twelve teams that were seeded into four groups with a Double Round Robin format, with all matches being best-of-one. Top two teams from each group advanced to the second round, where the teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-five matches. The results of the first round and the schedule of the second one can be seen below.

The Play-In stage of 2018 World Championship is being held in Seoul, South Korea. The group stage of the tournament will take place on October 10-17 in Busan. The final Knockout Stage will be held in three cities: the first matches will be played on October 20-21 in Busan, then the semifinals will be held on October 27-28 in Gwangju, while the grand final will take place on November 3 in Incheon. The initial prize pool of the tournament is set at $2,250,000, it will be increased by special skins sales.
