LCS Spring 2020 Finals to be Played Online

RIOG Games have confirmed that the final stage of spring season of the North American league LCS will be held online due to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Earlier the organizers announced that the league will be played at their studio in Los Angeles without live audience.

The spring season of League of Legends Championship Series is currently in the group stage, with only one week of matches remaining scheduled for March 28-29th. Currently Cloud9 have already secured their place in the playoffs, while Counter Logic Gaming will not be able to advance to the next stage. The fate of other teams remains undecided.

The best four teams of the group stage will advance to the upper bracket, while the teams placed 5-6th will start in the lower bracket. The playoffs stage will be played between April 5th – April 19th, all series will be best-of-five. The tournament’s prize pool is set at $200,000; its winner will get $100,000 in prize money and qualify for Mid-Season Invitational 2020.
