During their 10th anniversary stream RIOT Games revealed what they are currently working on multiple separate projects. Besides the card game Legends of Runeterra, there is a number of other projects that are being worked on.
Among the teased projects, a game codenamed Project A is the only title which is not connected with League of Legends in any way. It is a competitive first person tactical shooter set in a “near-future Earth”. The game will have a number of characters, with each of them having unique skills. The developers stated that they are focusing on the game’s network and global infrastructure to make shooting mechanics as reliable as possible. Anti-cheat system is also among their top priorities. The developers promised to share more information next year.
The developers also teased several currently unnamed projects that are based on the League of Legends universe. Among these games are a 2D fighting game Project L and a multiplayer dungeon crawler game with a top-down view Project F. Both games have a “long way to go” and won’t be released anytime soon.
On top of that, RIOT Games are working on a standalone game LOL Esports Manager, which will be released in 2020 and allow players to manage a professional League of Legends team. The players will be able to create unique rosters, choose strategy and make pre-match bans and picks. The game will have a story mode and competitive ranked play.
