As both rounds of the Play-In stage of 2018 League of Legends World Championship have concluded, the organizers of the event have revealed the drawing for the upcoming group stage.

The matches within the Group Stage will be played on October 10th – 17th. Twelve teams received direct invites to the Group Stage based on their performance in the last two years. The other four teams made it through the Play-In stage. These sixteen teams have been seeded into four GSL groups following a few rules: first, a group cannot include two teams from the same region; moreover, each group must have one team from Pool 1, two teams from Pool 2 and one team that made it through the Play-In stage. As a result, the groups will look as follows:

The Play-In stage was held on October 1st – 7th in Seoul. In the first round twelve teams competed in four GSL groups. Then top two teams from each group advanced to the second round, where they competed in best-of-five series for their place in the group stage.
