BLAST Pro Series Events to Have a New Extended Format
RFRSH Entertainment, the organizer of CS:GO events BLAST Pro Series, have announced that starting with their next event in Los Angeles BLAST Pro Series tournaments will feature a new, extended format. Instead of two best teams of group stage advancing directly to the grand finals, the events will now feature a 4-team single-elimination bracket with best-of-three series. The organizers mentioned that may change the format later.
With format changes comes a relocation: the BLAST Pro Series: Log Angeles venue has been changed to a significantly smaller one, which led to increase in tickets price from $25 to $99 for one day. Moreover, those who already bought tickets received a refund and will have to repurchase them. This decision provoked a backlash from community as the event starts in a month – it is scheduled for July 13th – 14th.
RFRSH Entertainment have been organizing BLAST Pro Series events since late 2017, with seven LAN-events in different parts of the world under their belt. Some members of the community criticized the events format due to a lack of best-of-three series.
