Dota 2 Event Winter Madness Announced

The tournament operator WePlay has announced a $100,000 Dota 2 online event that will be held between December 27th and January 5th.

The tournament will feature 14 participating teams. The organizers have already invited two teams – Alliance and Ninjas in Pyjamas. During the group stage, which will be held from December 27th to December 30th, ten teams will compete in two round-robin groups with best-of-one series. Then top four teams from each group will advance to the 1/8. Another four teams will start the competition from the quarterfinals. The regular matches within the playoffs stage will be best-of-three, while the grand-finals will be best-of-five. The winner of the event will get $50,000 in prize money, while the runner-up will receive $20,000.

WePlay is a Ukrainian tournament operator that hosts events in different esports titles, including Dota 2, League of Legends and World of Tanks. Earlier this year they hosted Reshuffle Madness with a $50,000 prize pool. In the grand finals of the event Alliance defeated ferzee with the 3-0 score, receiving $25,000 in prize money.
