ESL One Katowice 2018 Begins Tomorrow

The break is almost over! Tomorrow begins the first Dota 2 major of 2018 – ESL One Katowice, where 16 teams will compete for their part of a $1,000,000 prize pool.

The tournament’s line-up consists of 16 teams, 8 of which were directly invited by the organizers and the other 8 made it through the regional qualifiers. The full list of participants looks as follows:

The teams were seeded into two GSL groups with double-elimination bracket. All matches will be best-of-three with the exception of the quarterfinals which are best-of-one. The teams placed first in each group will advance to the semifinals, while the teams placed 2nd and 3rd will make it to the quarterfinals of the playoffs. The group stage will be held on February 20-23, the playoffs will take place on February 23-25 on Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. Outside of the $1,000,000 prize pool, the teams will also compete for 1500 qualification points towards The International 2018.
