The North American organization Cloud9 has announced three new members of their Dota 2 squad – they are Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao, Marcus "Ace" Hoelgaard and Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu. They have replaced Rolen "Skemberlu" Ong, Cheng "vtFαded" Jia Hao and Francis "FrancisLee" Lee.
The new players will take the core positions – EternaLEnVy will play as a carry, while the middle lane will be taken by Ace. Meanwhile, Sneyking will replace MISERY on the hard lane. The previous offlaner will move to the semi-support role.
EternaLEnVy and Sneyking have spent the first half of this season playing for Fighting PandaS, together they placed 9-12th at MDL Chengdu Major and 5-6th at WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, as well as won at WESG 2019 North America Finals. Ace’s most recent team was Ninjas in Pyjamas, with whom he spent the entire previous season – with his help the team managed to win Dota PIT Minor 2019 and StarLadder Minor Season 2, as well as to place 17-18th at The International 2019.
Cloud9 presented their new roster this January. The team competed in the Southeast Asia region, failing to make it through the open qualifier for ESL One Los Angeles 2020. Earlier the organization stated that they want the team to compete in North America – now, however, the roster has three players from Europe and one from each United States and Canada.
