Virtus.pro have announced that their second Dota 2 roster, which goes under the VP.Prodigy name, will be competing at the upcoming OGA Dota PIT Season 3: Europe/CIS with two stand-ins – Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk and Danil "gpk" Skutin. They will replace Rostislav "fn" Lozovoi and Albert "eine" Garaev, who still remain part of the team. To make space for Lil, the team’s captain Vitalie "Save-" Melnic will transition from the fourth to the fifth position.
The 24-years-old semi-support player from Ukraine Lil is mostly known for his time with Virtus.pro (2015-16, 2016-18) and Natus Vincere (2018). For the majority of 2020 the player has been without a team, standing in for different organizations and playing in multiple mixes without much success. GPK, 19 years old, is a middle lane player from Russia who has an active contract with Gambit Esports. However, he has not been playing for the team since May, standing in for HellRaisers at PM League 3, where the team placed 3rd, and helping Evil Geniuses to place 5-6th at OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division.
OGA Dota PIT Season 3: Europe/CIS will be played between September 23rd – 26th, featuring eight teams competing for $170,000 in a double-elimination bracket. In their first match VP.P will face Team Secret, the series is scheduled for September 23rd, 3:00 PM UK Time.
Virtus.pro opened their second Dota 2 roster this April. Since then the team has been playing without a single roster change, winning GGBet StayHome Challenge and Epic Prime League Season 1, as well as placing 2nd at WePlay! Pushka League Season 1: Division 1 and 3rd at ESL One Birmingham 2020.
