RIOT Games have taken the decision place to put on hold the Korean LoL leagues Champions Korea (LCK) and Challengers Korea (CK) due to the spread of coronavirus in the country. Currently the organizers cannot say when the leagues will resume.
LCK Spring 2020 started on February 5th and was in the group stage, which featured ten teams competing in a double round-robin group with best-of-three series. The teams had the time to play four weeks of matches – currently T1 and Gen.G are sharing the first place with the 7-1 score. They are followed by Gen.G (6-2), DragonX (5-3) and Afreeca Freecs (4-4). The group stage was scheduled to end in early April.
Earlier a similar situation happened with the Chinese league LPL, which was put on pause in late January. Last week RIOT Games announced that the competition was set to resume on March 9th. However, the teams will compete online from their headquarters instead of playing in the same venue offline.
