Fear and MISERY Left Evil Geniuses, Replaced by Fly and s4 from OG
Yesterday it was officially announced that Rasmus "MISERY" Filipsen and Clinton "Fear" Loomis left Evil Geniuses and were replaced by Tal "Fly" Aizik and Gustav "s4" Magnusson.
Both Evil Geniuses and OG have been suffering from unsatisfactory results lately. For example, at the latest major tournament ESL One Birmingham 2018 OG placed 5th-6th after being defeated by Fnatic in the quarterfinals, while EG even failed to advance from the group, placing last by losing 0-1 to Fnatic and 0-2 to Team Spirit.
As the EG’s roster has been changed after transfer lock, they lost all their Dota Pro Circuit points and the team won’t be eligible to be invited to The International 2018 or its closed qualifiers. According to the official statement, Fly will be the new in-game leader of the team, while s4 will continue to play in offlane, which means that Suma1L is back to midlane. BuLba will continue to coach the roster. The team will participate in the upcoming China Dota2 Supermajor and in the North American TI qualifier.
As the result of the shuffle, OG are left without at least two players and won’t be able to participate in the upcoming major in China. The team’s coach and the temporary stand-in Sébastien "7ckngMad" Debs released a blog post, in which he stated that he is determined to rebuild the team to participate in the TI qualifiers.
