Firebat, the World Champion of 2014, Ends his Hearthstone Player Career
24-years-old American James "Firebat" Kostesich has announced on his Twitter that he has decided to end his competitive hearthstone career. He thanked his fans and tournament organizers, as well as mentioned that he “never imaged it to last this long”.
Firebat started competing in Hearthstone in 2014 and became the world champion of that year – in the grand finals of 2014 Hearthstone World Championship he outplayed Wang "Tiddler Celestial" Xieyu with the 3-0 score, receiving $100,000 in prize money.
During his 6-years career, Firebat played for Copenhagen Flames (2014), Team Archon (2014-16), Cloud 9 (2016-17) and Omnislash (2017-20) and overall received about $250,000 in prize money. Recently he placed 16th at GrandMasters 2020 Season 2 – Americas.
