Keen Gaming Finalizes Participant List for GESC Thailand Minor

Keen Gaming placed first in the Chinese regional qualifier for GESC Thailand Minor after defeating LGD.Forever Young in the grand finals with the 3-0 score, finalizing the participant list for the upcoming Dota 2 minor tournament, which will take place at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre on May 9-12.

GESC: Thailand Dota2 Minor, just as its Indonesian iteration, will feature eight teams competing for $300,000 and 300 qualification points. Throughout May and April regional qualifiers were held in all six regions, as well as in Thailand. The winner of each closed qualifier secured their sport at the main event, among them are VGJ.Storm (North America), SG e-sports (South America), The Final Tribe (Europe), Vega Squadron (CIS), Fnatic (Southeast Asia) and Keen Gaming (China). The local scene will be represented by Alpha Red. Earlier the organizers invited Team Secret, who are currently sitting at the third place of Dota Pro Circuit Rankings with 4710 qualification points and are undoubtedly the favourites of the tournament.

The format of the main event hasn’t been announced yet. At GESC: Indonesia Dota2 Minor the teams were divided into two GSL groups, with top two teams from each group advancing to the single-elimination playoffs bracket. In the grand finals Evil Geniuses defeated VGJ.Thunder 2-0, receiving $110,000 in prize money and 150 DPC Points.
