MiBR Win ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018
MiBR are the winners of ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018, a $300,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. In the grand finals of the event they defeated Team Kinguin with the score of 3:0, receiving $200,000 in prize money.
The event was held on August 24-26 in Hong Kong. It featured eight participating teams, five of them were invited directly by the organizers, including MiBR, OpTic Gaming, TyLoo, Virtus.pro and Flash Gaming, while the other three teams had to make it through the regional qualifiers – MVP PK (Asia), Ghost Gaming (America), and Team Kinguin (Europe). They competed in a single-elimination playoffs bracket with grand finals being best-of-five and the other matches being best-of-three. To reach the grand final, MiBR defeated Flash Gaming (2:0) and MVP PK (2:0), while Team Kinguin outplayed TyLoo (2-1) and Ghost Gaming (2-1). The final series concluded with the clean 3:0 score in favor of MiBR. This is the first victory for the Brazilian team since they moved to the new organization this June.
