Preview of RLCS Season 8 – Europe
This weekend begins the competition in the European division of Rocket League Championship Series Season 8, where 8 teams will fight for 4 tickets to the series’ finals, as well as for their share of a $215,000 prize pool.
Among the event’s participants are FC Barcelona, Dignitas, Team Reciprocity, Renault Vitality, Team SoloMid, Complexity Gaming, mousesports, and Veloce Esports.
The tournament will begin with a group stage, which is scheduled for October 6th – November 3rd. The participants will be competing in a single group with round-robin format and best-of-five series. Top two teams will qualify for the for Finals, top six teams will qualify for the playoffs stage called Regional Championship, while bottom two teams will be relegated to the promotion playoffs.
The playoffs stage will be played on November 17-18th, where all matches will be best-of-seven. Top two teams of the League Play will start from semifinals, the teams placed 3rd-4th in League Play will begin in Upper Bracket, while the teams placed 5-6th will play in the lower bracket.
The best four teams of the European division will secure their tickets to RLCS Season 8 Finals, which will be held on December 13-15th in Madrid, Spain. The event will feature 16 teams – 4 from both EU and NA, 2 from both Oceania and South America – that will compete for a $530,000 prize pool.
