Serral Defeats Stats to Become Champion of GSL vs the World

The second international event of the current WCS season has concluded. In the grand final of GSL vs. the World Serral defeated Stats with the score of 4-3 and received ~$27,000 in prize money.

The event was held in Seoul, South Korea on August 2-5. The line-up of the event consisted of 16 players, half of them represented South Korea and the other half represented the rest of the world. They competed in a single-elimination playoffs bracket with best-of-five regular matches and best-of-seven finals. On their way to the finals Serral defeated Kelazhur (3-0), iNnoVation (3-0) and Dark (3-1), while Stats managed to beat Cyan (3-0), SpeCial (3-0) and Maru (3-1). Although Stats started the grand final with two wins, later Serral managed to bounce back and win the series 4-3. Earlier this year Serral also won WCS Valencia, WCS Austin and WCS Leipzig.

The next WCS event will be held on September 7-9 in Montreal, Canada. The prize pool is set at $101,000.
