VP.Prodigy and OG Seed Qualified for WePlay! Pushka League Division 1
The European and CIS closed qualifiers for the first division of WePlay! Pushka League Season 1 have concluded, with OG Seed and VP.Prodigy advancing to the main event. Besides that, Gambit Esports withdrew from the tournament and will be replaced by FlyToMoon.
Both qualifiers were held on April 20th-22nd and featured four teams competing in a single-elimination bracket. In the European region OG Seed defeated Chicken Fighters (2-0) and Vikin.gg (2-1), while VP.Prodigy outplayed Cyber TRAKTOR (2-0) and Empire Hope (2-0) in the CIS qualifier. The other participants of the qualifiers will compete in the tournament’s second division, where they will fight for two invites to the second season’s first division and a $5,000 prize pool.
In addition to it, Gambit Esports decided to skip the event due to being unable to gather on a bootcamp, which affected their training process in a negative way. Their place will be taken by FlyToMoon. The complete line-up looks as follows:
- Europe: Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, B8, HellRaisers, FlyToMoon, Team Spirit, OG Seed
- CIS: Team Nigma, Team Secret, Team Liquid, OG, Alliance, Ninjas in Pyjamas, VP.Prodigy
The event will begin today, on April 23rd, with a group stage, where European and CIS teams will be separated into two regional round-robin groups with best-of-three series. Best four teams from each group will advance to a multiregional playoffs bracket with double-elimination format, where all regular matches will be best-of-three and the grand finals will be best-of-five. The event features a $250,000 prize pool. Top 12 teams will secure their places in the first division for the second season, while the bottom 2 teams will compete in the second division.
