Clayster Removed from Dallas Empire within a Day after Winning COD League
Three-time world champion in Call of Duty James "Clayster" Eubanks has been removed from the active roster of Dallas Empire. The change happened just a day after the team’s impressive victory at Call of Duty League 2020. The reason is that the league is changing to the 4v4 format without expanding the list of participating teams.
Clayster has been competing since 2010. His first major accomplishment was in 2015, when he won Call of Duty Championship 2015 with Denial Esports. Last year the player emerged victorious at CWL Championship 2019 with EUnited, a roster that was split due to the transition to the franchise league. This year he managed to place first at Call of Duty League 2020, outplaying Atlanta FaZe – which includes his former EUnited teammates aBeZy and Simp – with the 5-1 score. Clayster is already looking for a new team.
The first season of Call of Duty League was played with the 5v5 format, however the league returns to the 4v4 format for the next season. Despite initial expectations of possible league expansion, its management decided to stick with only ten teams for yet another year, with a possibility to bring in new teams in 2021. Naturally it means that handful of the players will lose their place in the league.
