LEC: Yone Will Be Banned throughout the Playoffs
The commissioner of League of Legends European Championship Maximilian Peter Schmidt has announced that due to the league’s rules the newest champion in the game, Yone, will be disabled for the entirety of the playoffs stage.
Besides that, it has been revealed that the playoffs matches will be played on Patch 10.16a with additional bug fixes from 10.16b. Meanwhile Lillia, who was added to the game in late July with Patch 10.15, will be available for picking. It remains unknown whether Yone will be available at Worlds.
The playoffs stage will begin tomorrow, on August 21st, featuring six teams competing in a double-elimination bracket with best-of-five matches. The best four teams will qualify for World Championship 2020. The schedule of the first matches look as follows (UK Time):
- Lower Bracket Round 1: SK Gaming vs FC Schalke 04 Esports (August 21st, 4:00 PM)
- Semifinal #1: G2 Esports vs MAD Lions (August 22nd, 4:00 PM)
- Semifinal #2: Rogue vs Fnatic (August 23rd, 5:00 PM)
