Team Spirit and Infamous Qualified to China Dota2 Supermajor
The closed qualifiers for the upcoming China Dota2 Supermajor have concluded in two regions – CIS and South America. Team Spirit and Infamous secured their places at a $1,500,000 major tournament, which will be held this June in Shanghai, China.
As in every other region except for China, the qualifiers in CIS and South America featured six teams competing in a single group with round-robin format and best-of-two series. Both qualifiers were held on April 17-19. In the CIS region Team Spirit managed to place first with 8 points by defeating FlyToMoon, Gambit, Saint’s Squad and Vega Squadron. The first place in the South American qualifier was secured by Infamous with 9 points, who tied a draw with Thunder Predator but then defeated Mad Kings, W-G9, SG e-sports and paiN Gaming.

The qualifiers in the other regions will be held in the coming days – on May 20-22 in Europe, on May 22-23 in China and on May 23-25 in North America and Southeast Asia. The Chinese qualifier features a single-elimination format with 7 teams. EHOME and LGD.Forever Young will start in Playoffs Round 1, Invictus Gaming and Keen Gaming were seeded to quarterfinals, while PSG.LGD were directly invited to the finals of the qualifiers.
The main event of China Dota2 Supermajor will take place on June 2-10 in Shanghai, China. The prize pool is set at $1,500,000, the teams will also compete for 2,250 DPC Points. Earlier the organizers of the event invited 10 teams: Virtus.pro, Team Liquid, Team Secret, Newbee, Vici Gaming, VGJ.Thunder, Evil Geniuses, Natus Vincere, Mineski and OG.
