CS:GO Danger Zone Update: Battle Royale Mode and Free to Play
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has received a major update Danger Zone, which introduced a new fast-paced Battle Royale game mode and changed the game’s monetization model to Free to Play. The update also includes the new Danger Zone Case with 17 community created weapon skins and the Horizon Knives Case.
Danger Zone is the new official Battle Royale game mode, which features up to 18 players and can be played in solos, duos and trios. The matches are estimated to last for about 10 minutes. At the start of the match, each player gets to choose the entry point. After dropping from the helicopter, you will have to try to become the last survivor. Players can find equipment and money all over the map. The money can be used to order weapons and supplies on your tablet, the delivery will be done by a flying drone. The tablet is also used as a map, which is divided into sections and shows in which sections your enemies are. From time to time special supplies will be dropped in a random part of the map, which can also be tracked on the map. Moreover, you can rescue hostages and blow up safes with C4 to get more money and get tactical advantage of your enemies.
Free to Play
From now on, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is free with all game modes, matchmaking and a limited set of item drops and weapon cases. All users who had bought the game before it became free to play will be promoted to the Prime Status. Prime users are eligible for Prime-exclusive souvenir items, item drops, and weapon cases. On top of that, players with Prime Status will be matched with other players who also have Prime Status. For new players, there are two ways to earn Prime Status – either by reaching rank 21 and adding a phone number to your account, or by purchasing the Prime Status Upgrade in-game or through the Steam Store.
