ELEAGUE Major: Results of the New Challengers Stage, Preview of the Next Stage

The first stage of the ongoing ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 have concluded with 9 teams advancing to the next stage and another 7 teams being eliminated from the tournament. Let’s take a look at the results of the first stage of the tournament and preview the next one.

The first stage of the major, previously known as the Offline Qualifier, was held on January 12-15 at ELEAGUE Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. It featured 8 teams from the regional minor-tournaments and 8 teams that placed bottom-8 at the previous major. The competition was held in a swiss format. Eight teams with best results advanced to the next stage, including Cloud9, G2, FaZe, Vega, Space Soldiers, mouz, Na`Vi, Quantum Bellator Fire. Moreover, since 100 Thieves withdrew from the tournament, the organizers decided to give their spot in the New Legends stage through the special decider matches between the teams with the 2-3 score, which was won by Team Liquid. The next stage, The New Legends (ex-Group Stage), will take place on January 19-22 at ELEAGUE Arena. 9 teams qualified from the New Challengers will be joined by 7 teams with the legends status from the previous major:
