ENCE eSports Are the Champions of DreamHack Open Winter 2018

ENCE eSports have defeated Bravado Gaming in the grand finals of DreamHack Open Winter 2018, which took place from November 30th to December 2nd at Elmia Convention Center in Jönköping, Sweden. The prize pool of the event was set at $100,000.

The event featured eight teams, six of which received direct invites from the organizers – compLexity Gaming, ENCE eSports, G2 Esports, Heroic, Team LDLC.com, and OpTic Gaming, while two of the participants made it through the regional qualifiers – x6tence Galaxy (Europe) and Bravado Gaming (North America). First, the teams competed in two GSL groups with best-of-one and best-of-three series. Then, top two teams from each group made it to the single-elimination playoffs bracket with bo3 series.

Bravado Gaming qualified for playoffs from the first place in Group A, where they defeated OpTic Gaming (16:14) and G2 Esports (16:13). ENCE Esports also competed in Group A, where they placed second. In the opening match the Finnish team lost to G2 Esports (14:16), but then bounced back and managed to win two series in a row – they defeated OpTic Gaming (2:1) and G2 Esports (2:0). In the playoffs both semifinals ended with the 2-0 score: Bravado Gaming defeated x6tence Galaxy, while ENCE eSports outplayed Heroic. In the grand finals ENCE eSports defeated their opponents on Train (16:9) and Inferno (16:5).
