ESL One Birmingham 2019 with $300,000 at Stake Begins Tomorrow
Tomorrow, on May 28th, begins a Dota 2 LAN-tournament ESL One Birmingham 2019, which will feature twelve teams from all over the world competing for a $300,000 prize pool. The event is not part of official Pro Circuit.
Among participants are eight invited teams, including Vici Gaming, Gambit Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, PSG.LGD, OG, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses and Team Secret. The other four teams made it through the regional events: Alliance emerged victorious at GG.Bet Birmingham Invitational, while Forward Gaming, Keen Gaming and TNC Predator placed first in North American, Chinese and Southeast Asian qualifiers respectively. These teams have been split into two groups as follows:

The group stage is scheduled for May 28th – 30th and will follow a round-robin format with best-of-two series. Top two teams of each group will make it to the upper bracket, while teams placed 3rd and 4th will advance to the lower bracket. The playoffs stage, which will take place on May 30th – June 2nd, will feature a double-elimination format with all regular matches being best-of-three and grand finals being best-of-five. All matches, expect for the first round of the upper bracket, will be played at the Barclaycard Arena in front of a live audience.
