ESL One Cologne: European and North American Qualifiers

ESL revealed the list of teams that will participate in the North American and European qualifiers for the upcoming $300,000 CS:GO event ESL One Cologne 2018. The EU qualifier will have 8 participants, two of them will advance to the main event, while the North American qualifier features only 6 teams and receives only one spot in the finals.

The list of participants of the European qualifier includes North, Heroic, HellRaisers, Gambit Esports,, Space Soldiers, Valiance & Co, and WASD Sports. They will compete in a double-elimination playoffs bracket with all matches being best-of-three, top two teams will advance to the main event.

Friday, May 25

  • 11:00 AM – Gambit Esports vs Valiance
  • 11:00 AM – Space Soldiers vs HellRaisers
  • 11:00 AM – Heroic vs
  • 11:00 AM – WASD Sports vs North
  • 2:00 PM – Semifinals
  • 5:00 PM – Losers’ Round 1

Saturday, May 26

  • 11:00 AM – Losers’ Round 2
  • 2:00 PM – Winner’s Finals + Losers Round 3
  • 5:00 PM – Losers’ Finals

The North American qualifiers have a smaller number of participating teams, namely five (NRG Esports withdrew from the event). They will also compete in a double-elimination bracket, with regular matches being best-of-three and finals being best-of-five. Only one team will make it to the LAN-finals.

Friday, May 25-26

  • 9:00 PM – Loser’s Round 1 + Winner’s Finals
  • 00:00 AM – Loser’s Finals
  • 03:00 AM – Grand Finals

The qualified teams will join 11 teams that received direct invites from the organizers: Astralis, BIG, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, G2 Esports, Team Liquid, mousesports, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, SK Gaming. Yet another team will qualify through GG.BET Majestic – a LAN-event held by UCC in cooperation with GG.Bet, the prize pool is set at $25,000. It will take place on June 5-6 at Cyberspace Arena in Moscow. The list of participants includes Gambit Esports, North, ALTERNATE aTTaX and the winner of CIS qualifier.

The main event of ESL One Cologne will take place on July 3-8 at Lanxess-Arena in Cologne, Germany. Sixteen participating teams will compete for their share of a $300,000 prize pool. The event is part of Intel Grand Slam series.
