ESL One Cologne: FaZe and Astralis in Semifinals
The group stage of the ongoing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament ESL One Cologne 2018 has concluded, determining six teams that will continue their competition for a $300,000 prize pool at Lanxess-Arena.
The group stage was held on July 3rd – 5th. Sixteen participating teams were seeded into two GSL groups with the first round being best-of-one and the following series being best-of-thee. Both Astralis and FaZe Clan placed first in their groups, securing the place in the semifinals. G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, Fnatic and BIG advanced to the playoffs from the 2nd and 3rd places and will start from the quarterfinals.
The playoffs will be played at Lanxess-Arena with live audience on July 6th – 8th. The teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket, with quarterfinals and semifinals being best-of-three, while the grand finals will be best-of-five. The bracket can be seen below.
