Dota 2 Updates to Version 7.40b With Meta Balance Changes

Dota 2 has received patch 7.40b, with the developers focusing on balance adjustments to several heroes and a number of items. The update aims to correct win rates and stabilize the overall meta following the release of version 7.40.

Pangolier and Spectre were the main beneficiaries of the patch, receiving buffs due to their low pick and win rates. Treant Protector also gained additional improvements, with several of his abilities being enhanced.

At the same time, Tidehunter was hit with nerfs. The developers reworked his level 10 and level 20 talents and adjusted the Anchor Smash effect from Blubber — the ability now deals 50% less damage and is considered reflected damage, meaning it no longer works through BKB.

Largo was also affected by the update. Catchy Lick was buffed, while the echo effect from Croak of Genius was toned down.

In addition, minor balance tweaks were applied to Mask of Madness, Silver Edge, Spirit Vessel, and Urn of Shadows. The full list of changes is available on the game’s official website.
