Natus Vincere: Velheor Replaced LeBron [Updated]

Update: Natus Vincere confirmed that LeBron leaves the roster and is replaced by Velheor. Lil moves to position 5, while velheor will play as 4. The team decided to withdraw from ESL One Birmingham to spend this time preparing for China Dota2 Supermajor.

Old text: Natus Vincere may be changing their Dota 2 roster. At the official webpage of the upcoming China Dota2 Supermajor Na`Vi are listed with Fedor "Velheor" Rusihin instead of Nikola "LeBronDota" Popović.

Although this information hasn’t been confirmed by the management of the Ukrainian organization, it is very likely that Na`Vi are indeed changing their roster as recently the team has been suffering from bad results. After parting ways with Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev and Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosyan and signing Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk and Nikola "LeBronDota" Popović, Na`Vi participated in four LAN-finals: they placed 13-16th at ESL One Katowice 2018, 3-4th at GESC: Indonesia Dota2 Minor, 5-6th at StarLadder Invitational Season 5 and 11-12th at EPICENTER XL. Velheor is a Russian player, who used to be part of SFTe-sports and various CIS-mixes, he’s currently at the 319th place of the World MMR Leaderboards. He is known as the position 4 player, which may hint that Lil will play as 5 and captain the team.

If Na`Vi are indeed to change their roster, they won’t be eligible to be invited to The International 2018 or to its closed qualifiers. It is still possible that Velheor will play with them as a temporary stand-in – in this case the team will receive a decreased amount of Pro Circuit points, if any.

China Dota2 Supermajor will be held on June 2-10 in Shanghai, China. Sixteen teams will compete for a $1,500,000 prize pool and 2,250 qualification points. Natus Vincere were invited to the tournament by its organizers.
