Perfect World Masters: Group Stage Results, Playoffs Seedings

The minor Dota 2 tournament Perfect World Masters is underway, and the group stage has already concluded with two teams being eliminated from the tournament. Let’s take a look at the results of the group stage and the upcoming matches in the playoffs.

The tournament has started with the group stage, in which 10 participating teams were divided into two groups of five. The teams played in a round-robin format with best-of-two matches. The teams placed last in their group were eliminated, the other ones advanced to the playoffs. While the results of Group A were more or less expected, Group B surprised many: Team Kinguin placed first leaving behind such big names as Secret and Newbee, not to mention that no one expected LGD who placed 4th at The International 2017 and 2nd at the previous minor PGL Open Bucharest to be knocked out so early in the tournament.

Group Stage Results:

1. Vici Gaming 3-0-1 9p 1. Team Kinguin 1-3-0 6p
2. LGD.Forever Young 2-2-0 8p 2. Team Secret 1-2-1 5p
3. compLexity Gaming 1-1-2 4p 3. Newbee 1-2-1 5p
4. Vega Squadron 1-1-2 4p 4. Mineski 1-2-1 5p
5. LGD Gaming 0-3-1 3p 5. SG-esports 0-2-2 2p

The teams that made it through the group stage will continue their competition in the double-elimination playoffs bracket. The first round of the lower bracket is best-of-one, the other series are best-of-three with grand finals being best-of-five. The 1st placed team of each group could choose an opponent from the 3rd or 4th place of the other groups.
