PGL to Host the Fifth Dota 2 Major of the Season, Ten Teams Are Already Invited

PGL announced that it will host the fifth major Dota 2 tournament of the season – PGL Bucharest Major 2018. The organizers already invited 10 teams to the tournament, the other 6 teams will have to make it through the regional qualifiers.

  • Evil Geniuses
  • Natus Vincere
  • Mineski
  • compLexity Gaming
  • Vici Gaming
  • LGD.Forever Young
  • Virtus.pro
  • Team Secret

Regional qualifiers will be held in North America, China, South America, Southeast Asia, Europe and CIS. Most regions will feature 8 teams: 6 of them will be directly invited, while the other will qualify from open qualifiers. That said, only 6 teams will be able to participate in North American qualifiers (4 invited and 2 qualified ones), while South American qualifiers will have 4 spots for teams from open qualifiers. Most of the participating teams are already known, while some of them will be announced later.

  • Southeast Asia – January 8th, 2018
  • Europe – January 8th, 2018
  • CIS – January 8th, 2018
  • North America – January 9th, 2018

The main event will be held at Polyvalent Hall in Bucharest, Romania. The tournament’s prize pool is set at $1,000,000, on top of it the teams will compete for 1500 DPC points. The group stage will take place on March 4-7, the playoffs stage will start on March 9th and continue to March 11th.
