SoNNeikO out of Natus Vincere
Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev, who used to be the captain of Natus Vincere Dota 2 roster, leaves the team. His contract with the organization expires on February 28.
Just a few days ago Natus Vincere swapped players with another prominent CIS esports organization – Virtus.pro. As a result of the negotiations between the two organizations, Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosyan left Na`Vi to join VP, while Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk was transferred to Na`Vi. Later the management of the Ukrainian organization announced another change in its roster – Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev parted ways with the team, leaving the roster without a captain. Yevhen Zolotarev, CEO of Natus Vincere, commented on the roster changes in the video statement. According to the video, the decision to exclude SoNNeikO from the roster was made by the organization because the team “was rather negative towards him”, also it was stated that the player was given a second chance to “rethink his approach”. The full video with English subtitles can be seen below.
SoNNeikO joined Natus Vincere in 2015, later in 2016 he left the organization but returned to it half a year later. The team suffered from numerous roster changes, in the result of which SoNNeikO became the captain of the team. Despite the unsatisfactory results in the previous seasons, this season Natus Vincere have been on a raise – after signing RodjER the team managed to qualify for various Dota Pro Circuit events, win at Adrenaline Cyber League, place 4th at DreamLeague Season 8 and 3-4th at MDL Macau. SoNNeikO left the team just before the transfer lock and already stated on his twitter account that he is not looking for a team, which can mean only two things – either the player has already found a new team or he will take a break from a competitive play.
