South Korea Wins Overwatch World Cup 2018

The South Korean national team has become the champion of Overwatch World Cup 2018 by defeating the Chinese team in the grand finals of the $128,000 event.

The tournament was held on November 2nd – 3rd at Anaheim Convention Center during Blizzcon. It featured eight national teams that represented South Korea, Finland, United States, Canada, China, Australia, France and United Kingdom competing in a single-elimination playoffs bracket.

South Korea finished the tournament undefeated – they defeated Australia (3:0) in the quarterfinals, United Kingdom (2:0) in the semifinals and China (4:0) in the grand finals. The Chinese team reached the finals by defeating Finland (3:0) in the quarterfinals and Canada (3:0) in the semifinals. In the match for the third place Canada outplayed United Kingdom with the 3:2 score. Each participant of the event received $16,000 in prize money.
