Team Secret Are the Champions of ESL One Katowice 2019

Team Secret defeated Gambit Esports in the grand finals of ESL One Katowice 2019, winning their second ESL One event in a row.

Team Secret, the champions of the previous major, started their way to the finals in the Group A, where they placed first with the 9-1 score. In the first round of the playoffs stage they defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-0). In the second round they managed to outplay Gambit Esports (2-0). In the final series Team Secret emerged victorious on all three maps. Earlier in November the team also placed first at ESL One Hamburg 2018.

ESL One Katowice 2019 took place on February 19th – 24th at Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. First, twelve participating teams were seeded into two round-robin groups with best-of-two series. Then top four teams from each group advanced to the upper bracket, while the teams placed 3rd and 4th made it to the lower bracket. All regular playoffs matches were best-of-three, the grand finals was best-of-five. The prize pool was set at $300,000.
