Team Secret Defeats Fnatic to Become Champions of PVP Esports Championship

Team Secret have defeated Fnatic in the grand finals of PVP Esports Championship with the score of 3:2 to claim an $80,000 cash prize. The runner-up has received $40,000.

The event was held on October 3-7 at Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore. Three teams – PSG.LGD, Team Secret, and Fnatic – were directly invited to the second stage of the event, while the other six participants that made it through the regional qualifiers, among which were KSY (Australia), Team Admiral (Philippines), Resurgence (Singapore), Hashtag?.DOTA (Thailand), Signify (India), and BOOM ID (Indonesia), started the competition from the first stage.

In the first stage six teams competed in a single round-robin group with best-of-one series, with only top three teams advancing further. In the second stage three teams from the first stage and three invited teams competed in two groups, the bottom team of each group was eliminated. The final third stage featured a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three semifinals and best-of-five grand finals.

Both finalists made it to the playoffs from Group A, where Fnatic defeated both Secret and Signify, while Secret managed to beat Signify. In the semifinals Fnatic outplayed Team Admiral (2:0), while Team Secret defeated PSG.LGD (2:0). The final series concluded with the score of 3:2 in favour of Team Secret.
