Team Secret to Play with Virtus.pro in the Upper Bracket Finals of The Chongqing Major

As the second day of the playoffs stage of The Chongqing Major has completed, Virtus.pro and Team Secret secured their places in the Upper Bracket Finals, meaning that both of these teams will finish in top 3 of the event. Meanwhile four teams – Alliance, The Pango, Forward Gaming and Team Aster – have been eliminated from the major tournament.

The competitive day started with the opening matches of the Lower Bracket, where we witnessed four best-of-one series – Chaos EC defeated Alliance, Thunder Predator outplayed The Pango, J.Storm managed to beat Forward Gaming, and TNC Predator outcompeted Team Aster. Later we saw two best-of-three series in the upper bracket, both of which concluded with the 2-0 score – Virtus.pro, despite playing with the coach instead of their in-game leader Alexei "Solo" Berezin who got sick, managed to outplay PSG.LGD, while Team Secret emerged victorious against EHOME.

Playoffs Bracket:

Earlier sixteen participating teams competed in four GSL groups with best-of-three series. Top two teams from each group advanced to the upper bracket, while the others made it to the lower bracket.

The Chongqing Major takes place on January 19-27 in China, it features sixteen teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 Dota Pro Circuit Points.
