The International 2019 Prize Pool Exceeds $19,000,000

Forty four days since Battle Pass release, The International 2019 prize pool has exceeded $19,000,000. For reference, last year over the same period the prize pool reached only $14,750,000, which is a $4,250,000 difference.

The International 2019 prize pool was initially set at $1,600,000 and is increased by in-game purchases of cosmetic items, such as Battle Pass and Treasures. It should be noted that this year Valve haven’t released any additional content yet aside from Collector’s Cache, which usually significantly increases Battle Pass sales.

The International 2019 will be held on August 15th – 25th in Shanghai, China. Eight teams have already secured their spot at the event by acquiring enough Dota Pro Circuit Points, among them are Team Secret, Virtus.pro, Vici Gaming, PSG.LGD, Fnatic, Team Liquid, and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
